The skin looks similar to an an apple - like a Granny Smith. The shape isn't typical for apple, but could this be some new or not well known variety of apple. OR, I saw a different type of kiwi in one of our stores lately. I can't remember exactly what is was called, and I can't even remember exactly what it looked like (since it was about a month ago).
