Walmart Fabric Department update

I asked at my closest Walmart if any of the local Walmart fabric departments were going to remain open and was told that the Traveler's Rest store is going to keep its fabric department until February. A friend told me that the one in Berea is slated to be open for about another year.

I was also told that it might help if people in the Greenville area would call 1-800-Walmart and express their wishes to have the fabric department remain open.

So I hope those of you in the Greenville area who might be interested in keeping one of the fabric departments open will give them a call and express your desire.

Becka

Someone on one of the sewing blogs posted these pics of a new department in Walmart, Birmingham Al. Has anyone seen this here?

I have not seen this at our local Walmart (other than the fat quarters and jelly rolls.) I have seen something similar (but on a much smaller scale) at a couple of our local craft stores. At least this would provide some options for crafters. Thanks for posting these.

Springs Creative Products Group is one of the companies involved in the new fabric department at Walmart. The new modular is not in all stores, but you can find a list of current locations on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/CreativeCutsFabricandCrafts?ref=ts

More stores will be added in July so keep a watch out for additions to the list!

Our walmart just remodeled and did away with all the fabric on bolts, but added the new 2-yard precut packs as pictured in Michele’s comment, pretty neat looking stuff, and the purse kits are also nice, I had all 3 granddaughters with me on Saturday and now I have 3 purse kits sitting here….
